Two night trip to London,through
“Short Breaks”

On 15th March young adult carers took part in a two night trip to
London, funded through the Short Breaks Fund, the young adults
visited the London Dungeons, went sky high on the London Eye,
enjoyed the London Eye 4D Experience and meet with Camden Young
Adult Carers for lunch and games!
A busy weekend, meeting new people and discussing a trip for
Camden young adult carers to Argyll! Lots of fun and laughter – one to
be repeated!
A big thanks to our funder Short Break Fund who supported the trip, to
Virgin Trains & YHA Thameside (Youth Hostel Association

With funding from Shared Care Scotland, Short Breaks Fund
young carers aged 8 – 12 years from Bute & Cowal enjoyed a
residential break at Ardroy Outdoor Education in
Lochgoilhead. Thank you to Short Breaks Fund for
supporting the break, young carers had a fabulous time
making new friends and taking part in activities such as;
canoeing, climbing, the Nightline and Labyrinth!

Our new Bute Carers Centre is now open!

Isle of Bute
In celebration of the new Bute Carers
Centre we are holding an opening during Carers Week on Friday
14th June between 2-5pm, with a ribbon cutting at 3.30pm to
welcome everyone to the Bute Carers Centre.
We are very excited that our new Bute Carers Centre is now
open! The Carers Centre will offer a place for all Carers in Bute
to access support, information & advice, Young Carers
Statements, Adult Support Plans, Activities, after school groups,
a break from caring and a cuppa!
Funded through The Community Fund which has
supported Crossroads Young Carers
Cowal and Bute since its launch in
March 2016, we have been able to
respond to the needs of Carers
on the Isle of Bute.
Young Carers have identified
their wish list of things the
centre should provide and we
hope that as a result the new
Bute Carers Centre meets their
wishes.
