Crossroads Young Carers Cowal & Bute supports
young carers throughout Bute and Cowal aged 5
to 24 years, who have a caring responsibility for
another person, perhaps a parent, step parent,
sibling, grandparent

Crossroads Young Carers Cowal &
Bute supports young carers
throughout Bute and Cowal aged 5
to 24 years, who have a caring
responsibility for another person,
perhaps a parent, step parent,
sibling, grandparent.
Young Carers may be helping
someone else as a result of a
disability, long term illness, mental
health or drug or alcohol problem
and maybe helping with jobs
around the home, such as cleaning,
cooking, or doing the household
shopping, emotionally supporting
someone, managing household
finances, helping their cared for
person get dressed or move around.
Young carers support their cared for person in a range of different
ways.

Referrals
Referrals can be made by
Education, Social Work, Health or
third sector colleagues but you
must have permission from the
young carers parent if under 16
years or the young carer if over 16
years. Young carers and their
families can also make self
referrals.

caring and fun in variety of ways:
